My custom laptop bag ('Convertible Scholar Laptop w/Durango style front pockets' in brown leather) arrived on Friday. I have never ever liked a bag quite that much. As this was not a cheap purchase (though well worth its price) and I'm expecting it to stay with me for decades, that's how it is supposed to be.

I am a bit shorter than expected, it seems, as the backpack straps are hopelessly long for me: the shortest length works if I'm wearing a thick winter coat, and without such coats the straps should be significantly shorter. However I'm sure that I can order custom straps from Custom Hide, or get the existing straps shortened.

I know you all want to see photos, and yes, I'll add them to this entry when I have them.

Edit (2007-11-06):

Here are finally the photos. Sorry about the blur. The straps have been shortened from their original length. No photo of it being carried, but it does not sit against back like a normal backpack. I think it's the thickness and height that is causing that. It's still a comfortable carry.

If I got a time machine and could change something about my bag, I might want it to have just two compartments, instead of three, so that the laptop compartment is against my back directly, and make the non-laptop compartment a bit wider so that things like lunchboxes or milk cartons can better be carried, if there is a need for that.

My, these are pretty and comfy. The texture is that of sandwashed silk and there is a strip of lacy weave near the top of the stocking. The stockings even smell good, which is not something I expected.

I got mine from StockingsHQ in size L because I wanted to see how far up my curvy thighs a larger size than my normal medium would reach. These are certainly tall enough. I could have possibly done with the medium after all but these are just absolutely comfortable.

Despite all the yumminess of these stockings I do hope weather will soon be warm enough for me to switch to thinner ones.

Yesterday I for the first time finished a computer game in one go. The game was Atlantis Sky Patrol and its co-operative mode hooked us immediately and when 60min trial ended we did not want to stop. The levels felt a bit like a rollercoaster ride moodwise, they were colourful, fast paced and fun. The game offered a very nice mix of instant frustration and feelings of success. It also felt like it was new. Most games nowadays do not have that innovative feel to them.

101 marble filled levels and many hours later we were done. I think I'll soon replay it in a single player challenge mode which is harder than co-operative mode. The game has also a competitive mode but I am not sure how that one works.

The makers of the game have also very many other games which I'm now a tad nervous to try. See, the ones I have tried so far have been so much fun! What if I want them all?

I really like my Shure E2c earphones for their sound quality and comfort but unfortunately they have cables that stiffen in freezing temperatures, making it harder to put them on or to remove. Once the cable even cracked, exposing the copper wire inside. I managed to fix that with liquid rubber but one still needs to be extra careful in cold temperatures to prevent damage to the cables.

If you have never had an umbrella that is small enough to always carry with you, I highly recommend getting one. It makes a big difference on those cold days when it might or might not rain, keeping you dry and warm.

The black blank keyboard stickers DataCal sells are beautiful. The texture and colour seem to match the original keys on this HP laptop perfectly. I did have to cut notches into the stickers for the two base keys, though, and into the one for the key below the pointstick.

Let me know if you want a photo of the 'new' keys.
